My new favorite beauty secret: OxyGeneo facials from Aivee Clinic

I'm 38 years old and my skin looks better than ever. Not perfect (yet!) because I was so bad to my skin forever. I only began a real skincare regime a couple of years ago and my skin is thanking me already. Makes me think of how my skin would've been like if I had always been masipag about cleansing, repairing, moisturizing and protecting! So if you're in your 20s and reading this, make sure to deep clean, apply eye cream and anti-aging serum, use sunscreen every morning and moisturize every night!

I also look so much better recently because of this amazing facial from the Aivee Clinic—the OxyGeneo. This is me at the relaxing treatment room at Dr. Aivee Aguilar-Teo's clinic (more like spa!) at Mega Fashion Hall. I'm just about to get my OxyGeneo facial, which is the BEST FACIAL I've gotten in all my 38 years. Let me tell you all about it!
Luxurious experience. From minty refreshments at the lobby to fluffy comforters on the treatment beds.

What is it?
OxyGeneo is called the super facial because it's three facials in one: exfoliation, rejuvenation and healing. It's microdermabrasion on the surface and then infusion of nutrients and then healing oxygen into the skin. So dead cells that dull skin are removed and then revitalizing ingredients are pushed deep into the skin with oxygen. The result is smoother, firmer, plumper, finer skin.

Here are just a few of the benefits:
  • Hydrated and plumped up skin reduces wrinkles and fine lines
  • Collagen is increased so skin is firmer and tighter
  • Skin takes on a glow

How does it go?
The facial starts with a thorough cleansing. Skin is then exfoliated, then undergoes radio-frequency treatment for noninvasive contouring and firming. It ends with skin infused with essential nutrients and oxygen. The oxygen increases and hastens the effectivity of the treatment.

I researched all over the Internet and OxyGeneo in most clinics around the world is offered as an exfoliation-oxygenation facial, so their facials last just 30 minutes. Dr. Aivee adds lots of extra goodies. Here's what to expect:

Step 1: Makeup remover is applied on face and neck to melt away makeup, dirt and oils.
Step 2: Cleansing gel is massaged on face and neck for a thorough clean.
Step 3: Steaming is done for a few minutes to open up pores.
Step 4: Ultrasonic exfoliation lifts away dead skin cells on the surface while loosening stubborn dirt.
Step 5: Pricking out blackheads and whiteheads. My friend Nicole Romero of Beauty & Sparkle says you can ask to skip this.
Step 6: RF treatment for tightening and firming skin.
Step 7: Brightening gel oxygenation to infuse all these skin-saving nutrients deep into the skin.
Step 8: Collagen mask finishes off everything!

You're advised not to rinse till the next morning so I always schedule my OxyGeneo facials in the afternoon so I can go straight home and sleep.

What happens after?
You'd think that with all those steps above, your skin would be staging an angry revolution. I thought that would happen, too, after I had a facial in another spa-clinic and was promised there was no downtime. Grabe lang. My face was swollen and hot and felt burned for two weeks!!! So whenever spa-clinics tell me there's no downtime, I get scared. But with OxyGeneo, wala talagang downtime! In fact, my skin was tighter and brighter after just one session. And it really felt pampered.

See below, my skin before my very first OxyGeneo on the left, and my skin after on the right. No redness, just a nice glow!

We really saw a difference just three days after my facial. My husband (who discourages me from getting facials after that time my face was burned off) was staring... and staring and staring at me. He said my skin was nice and glowing and that I looked younger. That was just after one session of OxyGeneo! You can bet that he encourages me now to get my OxyGeneo facials!

I'm now in the middle of my treatment. A treatment is best at 6 sessions. My fourth will be next week. But I already see results. My fine lines decreased. My skin is brighter, clearer, tighter. I think I look younger! For example, my crow's feet are GONE.

See below my makeup-less, no-filter, super close up photo. Usually, a smile produces three very visible lines at the corners of my eyes. But now, wala na.

I really super love my OxyGeneo facials!

I wish I had the time to do the facials properly. I should go every 7-10 days. But because of my packed schedule, I go every 4-6 weeks. I guess if I did the prescribed schedule, my face would be so much more fabulous. Sigh!

Okay, if you have any questions, please leave them below and I'll ask Dr. Aivee. She's super smart and super nice and very helpful. And super galing! I highly recommend you visit her clinics and see and feel for yourself the Aivee touch!

Meet Topaz Horizon, the nail polish from Girlstuff

Summer is nearly over but I still can't get over the fact that I have a summery nail polish color named after my blog! Thanks so much, Girlstuff Forever! I'm so enjoying all these photos of the #BloggersEliteSummer Collection having a fun summer:

I also enjoyed it when nail art and nail polish enthusiasts posted their fabulous nails over on Instagram:

I'm so in love with the Girlstuff #BloggersEliteSummer Collection but I'm definitely most smitten by my bright and creamy yellow polish, Topaz Horizon! It's soooo ME—bright, bold, can't ignore and yet comforting and friendly.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes photos from the photo shoot of us bloggers (Nikki Tiu of AskMeWhats, Jackie Go of Go Jackie Go!, and Cristina Decena of Strutting on Sunshine).

My kikay Easter with Girlstuff's summer collection of nail polish

This post is brought to you by GirlStuff Forever.

First, the good news: I have a nail polish color named after my blog!

Girlstuff, a proudly Pinoy beauty and personal care brand, released its summer collection called "Bloggers' Elite Summer," and they named the four creamy pastels AskMeWhats (purple-pink), Go Jackie Go (lime green), Strutting on Sunshine (vivid blue), and—my favorite!—Topaz Horizon (chartreuse yellow) after the blogs of the same name.

This is so exciting! I have a nail polish color named Topaz Horizon!!!

Anyway, I'll talk about my fabulous yellow polish and the fabulous launch party soon. Today, let's celebrate Easter with the very Happy Easter colors of Girlstuff's summer collection! Yes, let's use AskMeWhats, Go Jackie Go, Strutting on Sunshine, and Topaz Horizon to paint our Easter eggs!

Okay, I edited the photos in the middle of the night so medyo grabe pala yung saturation! Sorry. The colors of our polishes are not that neon! Anyway, let's meet my Easter egg!
I used Topaz Horizon as the base.
Two coats for a bright and happy yellow!
I used a bottle cap to help me dry my egg.
Tracing my pattern using the other colors!
Et voila!

Now here are the colors on real nails:

My 38th birthday weekend

Oh wow, December is almost done and I haven't told you about my birthday! November was crazy. Good crazy. My birthday was just one of those good crazy days. I'm grateful that my life is so full of goodness and love. When I turned 38 on November 7, all I could think of was how every year God gives to me is a testament to His grace and love. Not every year is great. There have been years that were bad, even horrific, but on my birthdays, when I look back at the past year, I always still see that God was always there. Always.

This past year, my 37th year, has got to be one of the very best in my life. I really felt God's blessings pouring on me! Thank You, Lord! I hope my 38th year will be even better. But first, let's take a look at my birthday weekend.

Flowers from my Vince and our boys!
Check out how old I am! We recycled candles from the kids' birthdays.
Everyone make a wish!
And the cake is now covered with kiddie saliva!
My flowers are actually a deep red, they looked almost black.

Oakwood Joy-Nostalg gifted me with a stay at one of their suites. I'll talk more about the serviced apartments on my mommy blog but I just found it so perfect that Oakwood's address is on this street:

My sister Jacqui celebrated with us. Thanks, Jacqui, for babysitting the boys!
There was a sofa but my kids like snuggling with their Papa. Just like me!
The boys loved the master bedroom! We did, too!
Oakwood surprised the boys with a gift!
...and me with a beautiful cake!
More wishes!
Steveston Pizzaa surprised me with the yummiest, super-crowded-with-toppings pizza!
Dinner was a sampling of the seafood buffet. Boy, I look tired na here!
The boys conked out really late. Too excited!
Breakfast buffet the next morning!
Then off to the play area!
The kids loved the huge room made for play!
Like, super!
Meanwhile, us adults lounged and played with the littlest one.
Packing away before heading home!

Happiness! My husband, my kids, my health, my friends—they are everything to me! I pray all the time that I never take this for granted, because I do sometimes. God bless them. May God make me a blessing to them.

May God use me to be a blessing to you all, too, my dear readers! You've been so wonderful and encouraging to me all these years. Thank you, thank you! I pray now for God's abundance to overflow all over you now. God bless you all!

My Molami earphones are haute love!

Last night, I blogged about listening to sleepy, sad music. What I forgot to share (and it's really worth sharing!) is how I listen to my music.

In style!

But of course. Thanks so much to my absolutely luxe Molami Bight earphones.
You might think that an earphone is an earphone is an earphone. Like, it's all the same. Nope. These earphones not only make listening to music look sophisticated, the sound quality that comes out of its tiny, gold-plated earbuds is also actually sophisticated.

Molami is the baby of industrial designer Maria von Euler. While developing Molami, Maria wanted headphones for women—nope, she didn't mean cute and pink. She wanted a marriage of fashion and beauty, a stylish accessory for us women that also flatters our face and neck, and complements our hairstyles. Yes, headphones that complement our fab hairstyles! A big reason why I never used headphones, for example, is because they're ugly. Seriously. They either look juvenile, clunky, plastic, boring, obvious. Ugly. I have never met a headphone that I liked.

Until I met Molami. Just look at their headphones:
The Pleat. Light, sleek and made to flatter our jaw.
Made of napa leather and gold. Covers ears for complete sound isolation.
The Twine. It's designed to mimic a scarf/headband for a sound-surround experience.
Bandeau design is made of silk, satin and chiffon.
The Bight. For discrete style.

The Bight is the one I own. At first glance, it's all black napa leather and cord with gold. The earphones are designed to attach to the ear at two points. All other earphones just plug into the ear canal. After a while, the ear canal tires of the pressure.
The Bight has the EarClick System. The gold lace part goes into your ear canal while the soft nub (removable and washable) goes into the groove above the ear canal. Two support points! This way, my ears never get tired to listen to my music!

My earphones are made of black napa leather and gold. Other versions are white napa and gold, black stingray and silver, and black napa and black hardware.

Woven black cord and gold hardware. So simple, so classic, so luxe!

My earphones pack into a canvas pouch. Can't keep them in plastic because plastic deteriorates leather and I have to also protect the gold parts from getting scratched when I put it in my tote bag.

The Bight is meant for commuters so it doesn't completely block out the environment. In my case, I work from home but I need to keep an ear out for my little kids and the doorbell and all the house stuff that can't be ignored. And yet the sound that comes out of my tiny Bight speakers is strong, clear and whole. Not tinny or scratchy or hollow.

I especially like the Bight because it makes voices sound so distinct—very important to me when I'm transcribing interviews. In fact, when I posted this on Facebook, it's my writer friends (not my music-lover friends) who got really curious!

Thanks to my son, Vito, for taking these photos of me and my Molamis!

Molami headphones are exclusively available at Rustans. For more information, like Digits Trading on Facebook.
